Lark Hotels, The largest Boutique Hotel Management Company in the US is seeking a Task Force Chef. We operate 50+ hotels across the country. We have every kind of food and beverage outlets you can imagine from full-service, to counter service, to limited service options. Heck, we even have an outdoor pizza oven in Carmel, CA! We are very dynamic in what we offer. We are looking for an experienced Chef that is flexible and confident. You have knife skills. You know costing. You know recipes. You know labor. You know COGS. We have seasonal and year - round properties. As a Task Force Chef, you will be an integral part of our culinary team, providing temporary support to various locations nationwide. Your role will involve stepping in to ensure seamless kitchen operations, maintaining high standards of food quality, and leading kitchen teams in the absence of regular chefs. This position requires extensive travel and the ability to adapt to different kitchen environments quickly. Responsibilities: • Create new and unique menu items and specials using various ingredients in an innovative way • Ensure that all food preparation, including processes, portioning, and garnishing, is well supervised, and confirm that the finished dishes are visually appealing • Be responsible for the overall success of the daily culinary operations, with an emphasis on surpassing guest expectations while driving revenue and profit • Set and monitor performance criteria for team members, as well as provide advice and direction to support and maintain an efficient kitchen • Teach recruits and hire staff that suit the business culture to provide a welcoming atmosphere for kitchen employees • Control department costs that are under your management, such as food, supplies, uniforms, and equipment, and work with vendors to get the best products at a cost-effective price • Step into various kitchen environments to provide immediate culinary support and leadership. Qualifications: • Must be able to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage • Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with guests and coworkers • Strong leadership skills with experience leading, motivating, and developing a team • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED certification • Must have 7-8 years of culinary experience for this role Compensation: $65,000 - $70,000
