    Laser Logistics, LLC is an PA based spin off of Kurtz Bros., a 72 year old family owned and operated company that takes pride in the company’s strong family tradition, history of growth and innovative approach to problem solving in the “green industry”.

    Founded in 2014, Laser Logistics is the logistics arm of MKB Company & E&S Services, who are focused on helping businesses navigate and remain in compliance with the complex and evolving regulations associated with Stormwater Management.

    JOB SUMMARY: Laser Logistics is looking for a dependable, motivated, and hard working truck mechanic to join our family and help complete our team!

    The Heavy Equipment Mechanic works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed on time and within budget.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities involve all areas of maintenance, diagnosis and repair of front-end loaders, bulk soil screeners, semi-trucks, dump trucks and other equipment

    Address mechanical repair needs as they arise and provides periodic maintenance and inspections in an effort to minimize machinery downtime and maximize safety.

    Diagnose issues, determine parts required to most effectively complete the repair, and install the parts to restore the machine to proper working condition.

    Perform periodic maintenance as needed.

    Complete the required periodic maintenance items in addition to completing an inspection. Upon completion of the inspection, suggest other appropriate mechanical improvements to keep the machine in proper working order.

    Ability to work flexible hours and overtime throughout the year. Overtime likely in busy season (Spring – late Summer)

    Follow all company safety guidelines and complete incident reports immediately when required

    Complete accident/damage/incident report immediately after any accident/incident or damage occurs

    Maintain a high-level of customer service to internal and external customers

    Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

    Ability to provide their own tools.

    This role will require candidate to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.

    Other duties may be assigned.

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or equivalent work experience

    5-7 years' experience with heavy equipment, trucks, and production equipment preferred

    Proficient in the following systems: brakes, cooling, drive, electrical, exhaust and emissions control, heating and air conditioning, hydraulic, air, steering and suspension and coupling services

    Willingness to learn and grow within the role

    Experience welding and fabrication a plus

    Knowledge/Skills

    Flexible to work various hours

    Good communication and listening skills

    Friendly and positive demeanor with a focus on providing excellent customer service

    Demonstrating initiative with regards to responsibilities

    Attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through

    Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively

    Able to quickly develop a working knowledge of Kurtz Bros products & equipment

    Ability to ambulate around the site

    Enthusiastic, with a drive for results

    Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment

    Proficiency in office IT suite (excel, word and PowerPoint) and ability to learn new programs/software

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration.
