Pay Rate: $20–$27 per hour (based on experience)
1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 1:30 AM
The Laser Operator is responsible for reviewing production requirements, planning operations for efficient machine use, reviewing cutting programs, and selecting correct raw materials as needed. Duties include loading material, setting machine parameters, monitoring cutting performance, and assisting with production and maintenance tasks.
Load correct raw materials using an overhead crane and/or forklift.
Load programs and set machine parameters for optimal performance.
Monitor cutting performance and adjust operator-level settings as required.
Perform operator-level maintenance as needed or as scheduled.
Maintain proper documentation for production and maintenance activities.
Remove parts and skeleton material from the laser table after cutting.
Inspect finished parts and perform final cleanup as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
Assist with unloading raw material deliveries.
Support other areas within the metal prep department as needed.
Assist the maintenance department with scheduled maintenance or repairs.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
Ability to use measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges, etc.).
Ability to follow safety, operational, and maintenance procedures precisely.
