Position Title: Laser Operator
Department: Production
Location: Winterset, IA
Status: Full Time, Benefits Eligible (Four Weeks PTO Offering)
Shifts: First Shift Position - 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. M-R, Friday's will be OT based on business need.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Laser operators will provide our customers high quality cut parts by operating and maintaining tube laser-cutting machines.

FOCUS:
· Fabricates high quality parts by performing laser set up, loading / unloading steel, and ensuring the equipment is operating as it should per the SOP.
· Cuts an array of customer parts in various shapes, sizes, and thickness.
· Ensures that all finished parts are checked to Grip-Tite standards.
· Troubleshoots lasers for common alarms, error codes, and ensures they are running at optimal efficiency. Adjusts machine settings as necessary to ensure quality parts are produced.
· Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area, complying with safety standards.
· Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
· Machining experience is preferred - lasers, tube lasers, and/or other CNC equipment.
· Must have a strong understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
· Solid troubleshooting experience and problem-solving skill.
· Good team member who communicates well.
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to ensure quality and production goals are met.
· Prior experience using an overhead crane is desired.
· Experience of accurately reading tape measures, micrometers and calipers.
EDUCATION:
· Completion of a formal apprenticeship or proven work experience in machining is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching repetitively with the ability to be mobile throughout required work areas. The employee may frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 lbs. with assistance.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to work inside a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to changing temperatures (hot, cold, humid), moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises. The noise level in the work environment can be loud; vibration levels are moderate.
COMPENSATION:
· Competitive Hourly Pay – starting at $20 per hour, based on experience, certification and shift.
· Overtime may be required.
