    Opportunity

    This role requires the ability to independently operate and lead others to operate print equipment efficiently and effectively in the Xeikon department. Print equipment will include both Xeikon and Rosback equipment, as well as catch-trays and offline slitters. This position is integral to the success of print site operations and will require both a mechanical and technical aptitude. Performing routine and preventative maintenance, following trouble-shooting for repairs, and managing workflow through various internal systems (Vestcom proprietary applications, Xeikon software, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, & production schedules) are essential. The ability to communicate accurately, timely, and professionally across email (Microsoft Outlook), telephone, video conference & messaging system (Microsoft Teams), and in person are required.

    ► Key Areas of Responsibility

    • Works closely with site management team and leads to assist with customer required directives, deliveries, changes, emergencies, problems with data and special files by printing accurately and efficiently. Responsible for minimizing waste and misuse of raw materials.

    • Communicates well with co-workers across department, shifts, site, other departments, and site management team while performing Xeikon print functions by following workflow & print schedule. This requires being familiar with all customers and job types, their specific needs as well as the production schedule to make sure the correct information is communicated.

    • Completes multiple tasks at the same time to help the workflow process. Juggling the tasks of running a Xeikon with the current job in print, cutting in reprints, aiding other operators with workflow or troubleshooting, and starting the next job based on the print schedule.

    • Uses ERP system to log material usage. This requires being familiar with TCM/Data Collection to be able to issue, return, and substitute material, as well as being able to train other operators in these functions.

    • Keeps the work order system up to date and organized at all times. Maintaining records of jobs printed, tested, and checked via logbook and/or computer documents.

    • Ensures print quality standards are being met by sampling, viewing, and checking print jobs for: color matching and consistency, registration, and cut.

    • Helps maintain Xeikon, Rosback, and Vestcom equipment by placing service calls to appropriate service technicians as needed, as well as performing routine and preventative maintenance.

    • Maintains inventory levels for Xeikon and Rosback parts, tools, and equipment, and communicates with warehouse personnel, site management, machine support group, and Xeikon to address any inventory needs.

    • Ensure data from each customer is arriving on time, and if not, alerting site management and data center so they can make necessary notifications/decisions regarding late data.

    • Leads other print operators in the Xeikon department without the presence of a supervisor.

    • Follows through on responsibilities, assignments, and instructions as provided by site management and print schedules.

    • May be responsible for training new print operators in the Xeikon department.

    • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area, uses required PPE, and follows all safety rules and procedures.

    • May be required to work overtime or on another shift as needed.

    • Other duties as assigned by management.

    • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

    • Must have at least one to two years related experience and/or training.

    • Must have prior experience in a lead or similar role or have demonstrated lead qualities if applying internally.

    • Previous experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

    • Previous mechanical and/or technical experience or aptitude.

    • Ability to embody and reflect Vestcom’s core values

    ► Additional Requirements

    • Stands over 2/3 on the shift daily.

    • Uses hands and fingers to handle, and feel over 2/3 of the shift daily.

    • Reaches with hands and arms 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift daily.

    • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

    • Requires close vision (clear vision at 20-inches or less).

    • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
