Job Description We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support the DHS in San Diego, CA. Candidates for this position will be processed for a DHS clearance. This is a temp-to-hire position.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
Provides technical and management input on major tasks or technology assignments;
Perform system capacity analysis and planning;
Serves as a key contact for local and remote locations and customers to obtain clarification of problems;
Deploy and manage lab research systems that pass security assessment from a wide spectrum of government configuration requirements and baseline
Capable of understanding configuration management of scripting languages used in automating administration functions such as backups, patching, and auditing
Develop\build new secure VM images
Managing alerting systems such as Nagios
Provide operational support across a range of data analytic, systems engineering, and business intelligence tools.
Apply critical thinking and communication skills to assist staff while addressing project needs and system requirements.
Serve as a team member for internal customers communications and support activities with project teams.
Troubleshoot issues involving hybrid OS environments hosting systems, services, and protocols.
Assist with the collection of customer requirements for design and implementation of new lab services and capabilities.
Apply security best practices to assure Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of government data.
Perform system and application vulnerability scans and mitigate findings.
Contribute and edit system security, administrative, and management documentation.
