    Job Description

    Growing Government contractor looking to hire a CISCO Network Engineer to their staff. 

    Client has an immediate need for a highly qualified CISCO Network Engineer to be a key player on a project at a large Federal client site.

    The project supports global collaborative systems that increase world-wide understanding and good-will through international education programs.

    Candidate MUST HAVE a minimum of a Secret Security clearance

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Qualifications Required:

    Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Four (4) years of Information Technology (IT) experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.

    Must have five or more years of advanced experience with internetworking protocols, IP switching and routing, CISCO VLAN configuration, troubleshooting at both wide-area and local-area network level, reading and interpretation of switch/router configurations and logs, and use of packet sniffing tools and network meters.

    The network/engineer will possess strong LAN experience and Microsoft application deployment and Active Directory background.

    Strong working understanding of Windows 2003/2008 server and Active Directory

    Technical knowledge and understanding of Business Objects server

    The network engineer must possess a strong understanding of LAN technologies including Microsoft application deployment and Active Directory Background.

    Must have a strong working knowledge of SharePoint and Project Management server administration.

    Qualifications Desired: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) OR Cisco Certified Network Associate Wireless (CCNA Wireless) preferred

    Experience supporting the Department of State. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    Implementation and management of Cisco's Identity Services Engine (ISE)

    Implementation and management of Cisco's enterprise wireless services (WLAN)

    Collaborate with other network engineers to establish and maintain a WLAN design, particularly with regards to federal government security requirements.

    Perform daily administrative tasks and users/policies maintenance on ISE

    Utilizing various monitoring tools, perform active monitoring and remediation of rouge intrusions

    Inventory and security audits

    Perform network engineering tasks on Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls

    Analyze, design, implement, document, and maintain the routed and switched network infrastructure used for the

    above-standard departmental networks maintained by ECA-IIP/EX/IT. The primary brand of networking devices is CISCO Systems and Brocade (fibre channel)

    Assess and resolve tier 2 and tier 3 operational and performance issues with the networking infrastructure, working with vendor support or other organizations as needed.

    Work on performance measurement, troubleshooting, monitoring, and diagnosis of internetworking issues involving the standard departmental networks.
