    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The Director of Infrastructure is responsible for leading the Network, Systems, and Cloud Systems teams. The job entails contributing leadership as well as hands-on expertise to help support existing systems, create a roadmap for the respective departments, assist in budget planning and resourcing, ready the teams for substantial growth, architect technical solutions, create and track metrics and KPIs, define/support relevant SLAs per service, support security initiatives, support analytics and machine learning initiatives, and create an environment that welcomes necessary/efficient changes and transformations. This person is expected to work with the Director of Data Services and other members of the Technology team in order to tackle enterprise-wide challenges. This role reports directly to the CIO.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB FUNCTION:

    • Comply with HIPAA Compliance and Security Policies and Procedures

    • Managing the Network, Systems and Cloud Systems teams.

    • Defining quarterly MITs (Most Important Tasks) in support of the company-wide VFOs (Vital Few Objectives) for all Infrastructure team members.

    • Defining and tracking SLAs/metrics/KPIs to track per function and/or members.

    • Helping project budgeting and resourcing needs for the team.

    • Ensuring that day-to-day tasks get done efficiently, reliably and predictably in support of all business operations to help meet ongoing revenue forecast.

    • Estimating long term projects and ensuring they are on track (time and cost) during implementation.

    • Meeting with all stakeholders and business partners (operations, security, solutions, finance, etc.) regularly to understand their challenges and plan/execute to meet their expectations.

    • Collaborating with members of the Enterprise Architecture team to deliver efficient solutions.

    • Collaborating with members of the Data Services team to ensure that business critical workflows are fully supported and automated.

    • Defining regular and predictable release cycles.

    • Providing mentorship and technical guidance for daily and ongoing challenges. This could involve hands-on collaboration, coaching team members on best practices, trouble-shooting, testing, and implementation, peer review, as well as pairing to resolve complex problems.

    • Developing and recommending standards, guidelines, and best practices.

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Functions, Storage Gateway API/S3FS, VPC, ACL/SCP/IAM policies, RDS.
    • Strong communication and writing skills.

     

     REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    • BS degree in Computer Science or technology related field.
    • 8+ years as a principal engineer or an infrastructure tech lead.
    • 5+ years of implementing solutions in AWS including S3, EC2, Lambda/Step
    • 3+ years of implementing or supporting relational/key-value store/columnar databases, data warehouses and data lakes, and distributed caching solutions such as Memcache or Redis.
    • 3+ years of programming in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Go, or Ruby.
    • 3+ years of hands-on Linux shell scripting.
    • 2+ years leading a team of engineers to deliver business critical applications.
    • 1+ years of working with common frameworks and technologies such as: Spark, Hive, HDFS, Passenger/IIS, REST-ful services and message queues such as Sidekiq or SQS, SQL Server, CI/CD tools, reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Zepplin.
