Overview:

The individual in this role will work both Laundry Attendant and Houseperson shifts as needed. As a Laundry Attendant, this individual will be responsible for laundering and maintaining all Atwell Suites KCI linens in accordance with IHG standards. As a Houseperson, this individual will perform daily housekeeping procedures in all guest rooms and other public areas of the Atwell Suites KCI in accordance with IHG standards to ensure areas are “Guest Ready” every day.

Laundry Attendant Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate laundry equipment and handle laundry chemicals safely and efficiently, keeping up with the daily linen/terry demand of the Housekeeping and F&B Departments.

Distribute linen/terry items as needed.

Restock linen/terry shelves each shift; conduct "reclaims" weekly.

Ensure the dryer vent area is cleaned daily and all lint is removed.

Monitor inventory of linen/terry items; order linen/terry items as needed, following the established ordering procedures.

Monitor inventory of laundry chemicals; order laundry chemicals as needed, following the established ordering procedures.

Maintain all cribs and rollaway beds; ensure each bed has the required linens before being taken to a guest room.

Follow all company safety and security procedures.

Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage to hotel property.

Other duties as assigned.

Houseperson Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean all corridors, elevators, guest rooms, and other public areas of the hotel.

Deliver any requested housekeeping items or room supplies to guest rooms; restock room supplies upon guest departure or when requested.

Remove and replace dirty linens upon guest departure or when requested.

Realign furniture according to the prescribed layout; inspect and turn mattresses regularly.

Respond to any guest queries and requests.

Respond to calls for housekeeping problems promptly and courteously.

Organize and restock the housekeeping cart at the end of each shift.

Ensure confidentiality and security of guest rooms.

Follow all company safety and security procedures.

Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage to hotel property.

Other Duties and Expectations:

Lead by example; encourage co-workers to always perform at the highest levels.

Ask for feedback from supervisors; be open and willing to take directions and/or make changes to job performance as needed.

Engage guests at all opportunities to build a level of comfort between the guest and our property, instilling a “Home Away From Home” comfort during their stay.

Understand and respond to customer’s needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
