    Job Description

    Position Title: Laundry Production Operator Department: Production Reports To: Production Supervisor

    Position Summary

    The Laundry Production Operator is responsible for performing a variety of production tasks within an industrial laundry or dry-cleaning facility to ensure garments, linens, and other textile items are properly cleaned, processed, finished, and prepared for delivery. Duties include operating industrial laundry equipment, sorting and processing laundry, folding and pressing finished items, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

    This position requires adherence to company procedures, safety policies, and all applicable federal and Louisiana labor regulations. Employees must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality standards.

    Essential Job Functions

    Laundry Processing

    Operate industrial laundry equipment including washers, dryers, and other processing machines in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines.

    Load and unload laundry items into and out of machines safely and efficiently.

    Sort soiled laundry by type, color, and fabric to ensure proper washing procedures.

    Apply appropriate wash formulas and select correct machine settings for each load.

    Finishing and Handling

    Fold clean laundry by hand or with folding equipment according to company standards.

    Press linens and garments as required.

    Pretreat laundry and assist with stain removal when necessary.

    Weigh and count laundry items as part of production tracking and quality control.

    Distribution and Order Processing

    Distribute clean laundry to appropriate departments or production areas.

    Prepare laundry items for customer delivery.

    Equipment and Facility Maintenance

    Clean and maintain laundry equipment, carts, workstations, and the laundry facility.

    Monitor machines for proper operation and report maintenance concerns to supervisors promptly.

    Inventory and Supplies

    Maintain awareness of linen inventory and production supplies.

    Assist with monitoring and ordering laundry chemicals and supplies such as detergent, bleach, and fabric softener.

    Team Support

    Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors to maintain efficient workflow and production schedules.

    Required Qualifications

    Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

    Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

    Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with industrial laundry equipment.

    Previous experience in laundry, dry cleaning, hospitality laundry, or production operations.

    Physical Requirements

    The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

    Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during work shifts.

    Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull laundry bundles, bags, or carts weighing up to approximately 40–50 pounds.

    Ability to bend, stoop, reach, grasp, and perform repetitive motions with hands and arms.

    Ability to operate industrial machinery and production equipment safely.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is an industrial laundry or dry-cleaning facility. Employees may be exposed to:

    Heat and humidity from laundry equipment

    Noise from machinery

    Cleaning chemicals and detergents

    Fast-paced production conditions
