    Job Description

    Laurel Electronics, founded in 1990, is a leading supplier of digital panel meters, electronic counters, transmitters, large digit displays, and related electronic instrumentation for industrial measurement and control. We have an immediate opening for an Applications Engineer who will support new and existing customers, augment our engineering and testing staff, and help us expand our product line. This is a full-time position at our facility near Orange County Airport.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Solve customer application problems over the phone and by email.
    • Assist customers in configuring and programming Laurel products for specific applications
    • Write technical business proposals.
    • Support our network of distributors.
    • Provide product training.
    • Assist production with troubleshooting and repairs.
    • Update user manuals and generate technical documentation.
    • Recommend product line extensions, new products and systems.
    • Test and evaluate new products and systems.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial measurement and control.
    • Sales and customer support work experience.
    • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills.
    • Permit to work in the USA.
    • Live within commuting distance of Costa Mesa, California.

    PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience as an applications engineer.
    • Experience in industrial automation and process control.
    • Knowledge of RS232, RS485 and Ethernet communications.
    • Knowledge of communication protocols like Modbus, EtherNet/IP and ProfiNet.
    • C and C++ programming experience.
    • Electronic circuit design.
