A respected mid-sized law firm in Atlanta, known for its strong presence across corporate law, litigation, and real estate, is seeking a skilled Accountant with prior law firm experience. This role plays a key part in the firm’s financial operations and works closely with the firm's leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger & Financial Reporting
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end closings
Prepare internal financial reports and cash flow summaries
Banking & Reconciliation
Manage and reconcile multiple bank accounts
Oversee deposits and daily banking functions (including remote and physical deposits)
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Process vendor invoices and payments
Enter and allocate client receipts
Monitor and follow up on outstanding balances
Trust Accounting
Ensure compliance with IOLTA/trust accounting rules
Process trust deposits and disbursements
Assist with monthly trust reconciliations and reporting
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a law firm required
Proficiency with legal accounting software (e.g., TABS, QuickBooks, etc.) and Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of trust/IOLTA compliance
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
Comfortable working independently and with firm leadership
