Warning: This Job May Cause High Fives, Happy Clients, and Deep Professional Satisfaction Hey there, future People Whisperer. (Yes, that’s the title — because “Business Development & Sales Specialist” doesn’t quite capture the magic of what you’ll do.) At De Ford Law Firm, we help women and families through one of life’s toughest transitions, divorce, custody, and rebuilding their future. We believe in empowering clients, not overwhelming them. We’re looking for a people-first professional who can do two things really well: • Build meaningful relationships in our community. • Confidently guide potential clients through the decision to hire our firm. If you can connect, communicate, and close — while keeping your humanity intact — you might just be our person. Responsibilities: What You’ll Actually Do (Besides Be Everyone’s Favorite Person in the Room) This role is a 50/50 blend of sales and business development — because both matter equally to our growth and impact. Sales (a.k.a. Helping People Say “Yes” to a Better Future) • Meet with pre-qualified leads (already vetted and scheduled by our intake team). • Guide prospective clients through our consultation process with empathy, confidence, and clarity. • Help clients understand their options — and why our firm is the right choice for their situation. • Follow up after consults to answer questions, provide resources, and keep momentum going. • Track your performance, conversion rates, and client feedback — and work with the owner to continually improve. Business Development (a.k.a. Growing Our Reach and Reputation) • Build and maintain referral relationships with therapists, realtors, financial advisors, and other local professionals. • Attend networking events, luncheons, and community gatherings — representing the firm with professionalism and warmth. • Develop creative outreach ideas to keep the firm top-of-mind in the community. • Coordinate with the marketing team on joint campaigns, partnerships, and community events. • Keep detailed notes and follow-up tasks in our CRM (you’ll never lose track of who you met at that Chamber event again). You’ll spend your mornings meeting with clients in the office, and your afternoons strengthening connections in The Woodlands and surrounding areas. You’ll report directly to the firm owner — who is hands-on, supportive, and committed to helping you grow into a true rainmaker. Who You Are (and Who You’re Not) You’re not just a “networker.” You’re not a “closer” who sees dollar signs instead of people. You’re a professional who knows that sales and trust are the same thing — just spelled differently. You are: • A relationship-builder with emotional intelligence and genuine warmth. • A confident communicator who can explain value clearly and calmly. • Organized, self-motivated, and able to juggle multiple priorities without losing your smile. • Someone who can make a strong first impression — and an even stronger second one. • The kind of person who knows half of The Woodlands by name (or soon will). Why You’ll Love It Here • We’re not a typical law firm. • We don’t do drama, micromanagement, or cold-calling marathons. • We do believe in teamwork, accountability, laughter, and helping people through real-life transformation. You’ll have: • A base salary + performance-based bonuses. • A clear path for growth into senior sales or firm development roles. • Support from a marketing and intake team that fills your calendar with warm leads. • A collaborative, female-led environment that celebrates wins (often with snacks). If you’re ready to combine your people skills, sales experience, and community presence into a role that actually makes a difference, we can’t wait to meet you. Apply today. Bring your energy, empathy, and ambition. Let’s help more families in The Woodlands start their next chapter with confidence. Qualifications: Qualifications (or “Stuff You’ve Probably Already Done”) • 3+ years of professional experience in sales, intake, or business development , ideally in legal, medical, or professional services. • Proven ability to convert consultations into paying clients through a mix of empathy, clarity, and confidence. • Experience building and maintaining referral partnerships. • Strong written and verbal communication skills — you know how to follow up without being pushy. • Excellent time management and attention to detail (CRM use is second nature to you). Compensation: $50,000 - $65,000 yearly + performance based bonuses
