    We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. This is a hybrid position. You will be working in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and working from home on Mondays and Fridays. You'll draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, decrees, and orders, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible. Responsibilities: • You should know how to draft petitions, orders, discovery, and all the other documents involved in family law. We use FormBuilder and have our own templates, but you should be able to choose the right one and build the first draft. • Family law is messy, and there is often no right or best answer. Even gathering the information can be difficult. You will need to be creative, organized, and efficient to do your job well. • We all make mistakes, and we allow for that, but a penchant for accuracy and attention to detail are required to avoid mistakes that can cost clients dearly. • You will be working on many cases concurrently, over long periods of time. We expect you to keep track of key dates, keep the right people informed, and prioritize your time so that we never miss a deadline. • You should treat a case at 4:30 pm on Friday with the same care and compassion as one on Monday morning at 9 am. • Clients are dealing with massive stress and anxiety. You should be empathetic and help put them at ease. • The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, an ability to relate to people in crisis, and have a good sense of humor. • Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible. • Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organizing and coordinating witnesses. • Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers. • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits. Qualifications: • At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a family law firm setting is required. • We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running - We are not looking to train a paralegal, we want a paralegal who can train others. • We are a high-tech office and we all use Macs - This should not scare you, but you need to be able to use Apple products. • Talented communicator and writer. • Excellent organizational skills and time-management skills. • Talented communicator and writer. • ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired. • Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program is strongly preferred. Compensation: $55,000 - $75,000 yearly
