The Law Office of Jesse Hernandez is a small but growing criminal defense law firm based in San Antonio. The firm handles primarily State Criminal Defense and DWI cases but we also handle a limited number of motor vehicle personal injury cases. We are active on social media and involve all of our staff in our posts.

Our firm was built on the understanding that comprehensive representation does not begin and end in the courtroom. We know that just having sound legal counsel does not translate to a comprehensive and satisfactory experience for a client. We want our clients to be satisfied with their choice of firm, not just in their choice of attorney. Our client service and support staff are dedicated to making the experience of retaining an attorney as smooth as possible and ensuring that no client ever has a question or concern that goes unanswered. It doesn’t matter how good an attorney is if they don’t pay close attention to the wants and needs of the client. We want to make sure that each of our clients is as happy with the experience they have with our firm as they are with the ultimate result in his or her case.

We are currently seeking a full-time Spanish/English bilingual Criminal Defense Attorney to join our growing Legal Team.

Candidates should have a team mentality with an emphasis on customer service. He or She must also be able to thrive in a fast paced environment and be able to multitask to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Candidate should have criminal law first chair trial experience and 3+ years criminal law experience.

Salary is commiserate with experience and there are bonus opportunities.

Job Responsibilities : • Review case files; • Appear in court for arraignments, pretrial conferences, motion hearings and trials; • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judicial officers and team members; • Issue spot and develop strategies leading to efficient resolution of cases; • Negotiate and settle cases or prepare matters for jury trial and handle cases at trial; • Perform legal research and analyze and apply legal principles and precedents, facts, and evidence to legal problems; • Draft law and motion pleadings and present those statements of law, facts, and arguments clearly, logically, and effectively both written and orally; and • Effectively manage a nice sized caseload. • Speak with clients in and out of court to update them about their case.

Requirements : • Licensed to practice in Texas and is in good standing • Must have reliable transportation • Serious candidates should submit a cover letter, their resume, email address as well as their cellular phone number.

The potential candidate will get medical, vision and dental insurance as well as a 401(k). Potential candidate will receive a bonus at the end of the one year mark with the firm. The potential candidate can also receive bonuses on bringing in cases to the firm.

Salary: $75,000.00

Criminal Defense experience, jury trial experience and Spanish/English bilingual are required.
