You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as attending court hearings for divorce, spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. Your responsibilities include advising your clients on their rights, legal drafting, negotiating settlements, conducting discovery to gather evidence, and representing clients in court if necessary. Responsibilities: • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases • Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association) • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary • Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas Compensation: $99,500 - $111,500 yearly
