    Job Description

    We are a boutique style real estate law office that represents purchasers, sellers and lenders for residential New York and Connecticut closings. We are looking for a full-time paralegal for immediate hire with a minimum to 2 years NY or CT Real Estate Law office experience. Attention to detail, organization, customer service relations, and basic mathematical skills are extremely important. This is for a permanent full time position M-F 9am-5pm.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Open new files, gather and analyze intake information and relevant documents;
    • Moderate-Heavy call volume which includes interacting with clients, paralegals/attorneys, lenders and real estate agents;
    • Record and store client information
    • Draft and review legal documents
    • File Management;
    • Preparing contracts and closing documents and calculating closing adjustments and costs
    • Reviewing title reports and clearing title issues
    • Organize files, keep track of status of multiple files, and track time deadlines and critical dates and coordinate with attorney
    • Working to support an attorney handling all aspects of residential real estate closings for buyers, sellers, and lenders. Working very closely with clients, real estate agents, attorneys, loan officers, and title companies

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Notary Public

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Must be able to work independently and assume significant responsibility.

    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability multitask and meet and monitor deadlines.

    • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment

    • Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and great organizational skills are essential.

    • Strong computer technical skills and demonstrated ability to learn new software. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (Basic knowledge), and Adobe Acrobat;
