We practice exclusively in the areas of estate and special needs planning, trust administration, settlement planning, probate, guardianships and conservatorships. Responsibilities: • Manage Trust Administration matters from opening to resolution • Assist with Probate, Special Needs, and Conservatorship matters • Prepare Asset Allocations, Inventories, and Accountings • Draft petitions, Judicial Council forms, and other pleadings on the above matters • Prepare and serve government/agency notices • Research, draft, and record deeds • Meet and communicate with clients, beneficiaries, professional fiduciaries, financial advisors, and court clerks/officers • Draft other legal documents and correspondence • Calendar critical deadlines and meetings • Maintain client files and prepare materials for client meetings EXPERIENCE WITH PREPARING AND FILING CONSERVATORSHIP AND PROBATE PETITIONS, DRAFTING SPECIAL NEEDS PETITIONS, FAMILIARITY WITH GOVERNMENT BENEFITS, AND ACTION STEP, ARE A MAJOR PLUS, BUT NOT REQUIRED. TRAINING IN THESE AREAS WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE RIGHT CANDIDATE. Qualifications: Our ideal Paralegal would have demonstrated experience in the following areas: • At least 3-5 years of Trust Administration experience • Paralegal certification or equivalent • Experience preparing accountings • Ability to manage cases from opening to resolution        • Dependable self-starter who can work under minimal supervision • Organized and have exceptional attention to detail • Excellent at communication skills, both verbally and in writing • Able to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment • A hard-working, dedicated team player, who will strive to contribute to the success of the firm • Computer competency and knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat DC, and DocuSign, and the ability to learn and adapt to practice management systems (familiarity with Actionstep is a huge plus) • Some familiarity with annuities, investment accounts, and structured settlement (but not required) • Certified Notary Public is a plus, but if you are not a notary we will help you become one Compensation: $25 - $36 hourly or DOE, plus bonus
