Are you experienced and passionate about practicing law, but you don’t want to deal with the headache of running a business and making the phone ring? Are you interested in performing legal work on empowering cases, while still maintaining the flexibility of working from home, and having a work-life balance? Responsibilities: We are seeking a highly-motivated and experienced contract attorney to handle everything from: • Drafting demand letters • Initial pleadings • Discovery (propounding and responding to written discovery) • Law and motion and up through trial prep with potential opportunities for trial experience as need and availability permit. • Taking and defending depositions Qualifications: • Active California bar membership in good standing • Prior experience in civil litigation is required. • Prior experience in handling employment discrimination litigation (specifically sexual harassment cases) is preferred. • The ideal candidate has handled at least 10-15 cases both pre and post-litigation (i.e. drafting demand letters, drafted pleadings, propounded written discovery, responded to written discovery, drafted motions, taken depositions, defended depositions, attended mediation, etc.) • Comfortable in the courtroom • Competitive and professional disposition • Strong organizational, analytical, communication and writing skills • A self-starter; someone who needs little oversight and supervision Compensation: $40 - $75 hourly
