Job Responsibilities - Must have a thorough understanding of legal requirements of client's claims and knowledge of important facts and evidence to look for to support them. - Knowledge of how to obtain evidence from clients. Must be able to cross- examine clients, being certain to obtain key evidence and summarize it effectively. - Adept at determining what parts of client's story trigger specific legal issues, must know how to identify and summarize findings. - Must be able to comprehend and communicate the complete recovery process to clients, from start to finish. - Proactively communicate agenda to clients to effectively accomplish goals. - Know how to respond to common client questions and set expectations. - Fully develop client's case, with summarized evidence, witnesses, and prospective new clients. - Assist Attorney with all aspects of managing employment law cases. - Learn and master a working knowledge of specific California Employment Laws and apply them to specifics of real-life violations of employee rights. - Interview potential and existing clients and witnesses regarding the specifics of their claims and evidence/investigate and develop same. - Effectively determine, understand, and summarize case/evidence specifics to evaluate and develop the provability of cases. - Assist in preparation, filing and service of legal pleadings, correspondence, and documents. - Act as liaison between attorneys, clients, court and third parties. - Responsibility for calendaring and document management. - Legal research and writing. Qualifications and Skills - Bilingual (Spanish). - Must love helping people. - Exceptional organizational skills/clear thinking/ability to multitask. - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, telephonically and in writing. - Ability to self-start and work independently even under pressure. - Computer and software proficiency. Educational/Experiential Qualifications - Bachelor's degree/Paralegal Certificate/Equivalent work experience preferred. - Will train appropriate candidate(s) with applicable life experience and demonstrated personal drive and ability.
