Job Description
Busy, well-established and successful immigration law firm seeks an associate attorney. Qualified candidates will have two to five years of experience in the areas of business and family-based immigration (H-1B, L-1, E-2, O-1, EB-5, EB-2, EB-3, EB-1 and U.S. permanent residence). Experience in Family and Criminal Law a plus.
We are looking for an Immigration Attorney to handle legal matters that pertain to immigration matters, interpret and provide advice on migration, citizenship, and business immigration issues, political asylum, and on the processes through which people may secure travel, work, or student visas.
· Must be an active member in good standing in at least the Florida State Bar.
· Fully bilingual, including reading and writing, in English and Spanish is required.
· Preference for experience in immigration law, including experience with removal defense, family immigration, asylum, and/or U visa cases.
· Candidate must have strong academic skills, excellent writing, organization and communications skills, and must be able to handle a large caseload of diverse cases without micromanagement.
· Will be expected to work independently and regularly meet with clients, with the ability to take the lead as point of contact on cases assigned to her or him.
· Must be able to work under pressure and excel at time management.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Research, draft and prepare filing packages for EOIR, USCIS, ICE, BIA for review and submission
· Represent clients in Live/Zoom/Telephonic Hearings
· Evaluate FOIAs and draft legal memos for Partner's review
· Interact with Administrative staff and provide legal research and analysis on pending cases;
· Perform detailed legal research and provide alternative approaches for resolution of immigration issues
