Job Description
Law Firm primarily based in Encino, mainly focusing on personal injury, civil litigation, and probate matters currently looking for a paralegal.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years paralegal experience
Proficient knowledge of California processes, procedures and standards
Sharp written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle a high-volume workload with a strong degree of accuracy, efficiency and reliability.
Team-oriented and collaborative
"EQ" skills to build bridges, forges alliances and ------
Able to work independently with minimal oversight
Complete discretion handling confidential information
Positive outlook and a "can do" attitude
Experience budgeting and legal billing, and matter management software
Knowledge and experience working with Medi-cal/Medicare
-Experience with personal injury, civil, and PROBATE.
-Experience with responding to discovery and propounding discovery
-Good customer service skills when making contact with a client
-Spanish speaking preferred
-Experience with opening and closing legal files
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drafting and responding to discovery, gathering documentation, drafting declarations, analyzing evidence such as medical records, analyzing and summarizing trial evidence, assisting attorneys in preparing expert witnesses for trial testimony and depositions, organizing and preparing cases for trial.
Federal and State e-filing
Assisting w/ drafting litigation documents and supporting affidavits
Handling heavy volume of calls from clients, doctors, and defense counsel, and responding to inquiry from insurance companies.
Must be comfortable working in a home-office environment.
Ad-hoc projects as delegated
