Our cases have affected millions of insurance policyholders by forcing insurance companies to change their behavior. We are a small, successful plaintiffs firm that focuses on health insurance bad faith, catastrophic personal injury, and sexual abuse cases. We're looking for a strategic thinker, problem-solver, self-starter, team player, efficient tasker, and strong writer to direct cases, handle the firm’s law and motion, and conduct discovery. Must be passionate about getting justice for those wronged. Responsibilities: • Litigate and manage a diverse caseload from inception through pre-trial, trial, and appeal when necessary • Draft law and motion from initial complaints through all pre-trial motions and oppositions to trial and post-verdict pleadings • Draft and respond to discovery • Take and defend depositions, including percipient witness and expert depositions • Conduct pre-filing investigation and research • Evaluate/Review potential cases, interview clients and witnesses • Make court appearances, mostly in state court • Support the firm’s marketing initiatives including the creation of content • Periodic travel Qualifications: Required Skills and Experience: • Minimum 3-4 years of litigation experience with substantial law and motion experience • JD • Familiar with California state and federal court procedure and substantive law Preferred But Not Required Skills and Experience: • Experience with bad faith and personal injury cases • Deposition and some trial experience • Bilingual is a plus • Class Action experience Personal Attributes: • Empathetic, respectful, professional, organized, clear communicator, patient, calm, flexible, ethical, humble, and an energetic advocate • Self-starter, independent, efficient, motivated, driven, hardworking, strong writer and researcher, strong work ethic, indefatigable • Results-focused – extremely proactive with a strong bias for action • Competent solutions-oriented thinker and problem-solver • Committed to seeing casework to completion with a "can-do attitude" • Gets along well with others and enjoys working with a small team • Cultivates strong collaborative relationships and aligns well with company culture • Can effectively multi-talk and is detail-oriented • An ‘out of the box' thinker who is creative, strategic, brings ingenuity • You are eager to contribute ideas and add value to cases • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral skills • Strategic expertise emanating from a superior understanding of the law • Possesses an insightful approach to evaluating potential cases that fit with the firm • Eager to be mentored and to continually learn and grow Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000 DOE
