Job Description
Looking for an experienced litigation attorney with 3-7 years experience in real estate and business law for work at busy small law firm with locations in Napa and Truckee, California. Can work in either Napa or Truckee locations. At least half of all work time can be done remotely, if desired. Flexible hours. If you can get the job done right and in a timely manner, we are less interested in how, when and where you do so. We meaningfully strive for a true work-live balance.
The firm is currently run by a sole proprietor. Despite the small size, the matters are complex and we regularly deal with large and mid-sized law firms across the country. Most clients are long-term, sophisticated clients and consist largely of contractors, developers, real estate investors and property owners, wineries, and small and mid-sized businesses. General litigation experience is a must, including all facets of discovery, law and motion, depositions and trial work. Current litigation includes complex partnership disputes, easement and water rights disputes, construction disputes, and landlord-tenant disputes.
The following are not required, but are preferred (in order of importance): (1) experience with contract drafting and negotiation (e.g., operating agreements, leases, purchase agreements, finance documents, construction contracts), (2) mid- to large- size law firm experience (but coupled with an ability and desire to work in a smaller environment without the big law support staff), and (3) if working in Truckee, a Nevada law license.
