Lawn Care Spray Technician

Pay rate: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour (based on experience, reliability, and licensing qualifications)

Job Description

Grass Roots Lawn & Landscaping is looking for a dependable Lawn Care Spray Technician to manage lawn treatment applications on a structured service route. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, can operate independently, and wants to grow with a stable and growing company.

This is a skilled position involving fertilizer and weed control applications, customer interaction, and route responsibility. It is not an entry-level general labor position.

Applicants with a current Virginia Registered Technician pesticide license may qualify for higher starting pay. Applicants without a license will start at the lower end of the pay scale and must obtain certification within 30 days of employment to remain eligible for the position. Assistance with preparation for certification will be provided.

Responsibilities

Perform lawn treatment applications including fertilizer and weed control services Manage assigned daily route and complete scheduled properties Operate company vehicle and application equipment safely Prepare materials and equipment for daily production Communicate professionally with customers when needed Identify lawn conditions that may require attention or additional service Maintain organized and clean equipment and vehicle Follow all product labels and company safety procedures Accurately record services completed Assist with seasonal services such as aeration and seeding when required

Requirements

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Virginia Registered Technician pesticide license preferred Applicants without a license must obtain certification within 30 days of hire Starting pay will reflect licensing status and experience level Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required Ability to work independently and stay productive throughout the day Professional attitude when interacting with customers Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Previous lawn care or turf treatment experience is a plus but not required

Physical Demands

Ability to lift fertilizer bags up to 50 pounds Ability to operate spreaders and application equipment Frequent walking throughout the workday Ability to bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks Ability to work outside in seasonal temperatures

Miscellaneous

Full-time position Typical schedule Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday work during peak season 40+ hours available during busy months Paid weekly Opportunity for increased responsibility and advancement as company grows We maintain a drug-free workplace.
