    We are seeking PART TIME AND PER DIEM CNAS for our Home Health & Wellness Department.

    Newbury Court's Home Health & Wellness Department provides nursing care in-home to our many independent living residents. It is great way to have the home-care experience with no travel.

    Previous experience with the elderly population preferred.

    Must have current MA CNA License.

    Must be available to work rotating weekends and rotating holidays.

    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

    Exposure to extreme heat above 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Noise level can exceed 80 decibels and hearing protection provided by employer is required in all work areas. Exposure to dust caused by production process; masks available upon request. Hazardous conditions include moving machine parts and forklifts. Employees are issued hardhat, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves. Steel-toed shoes are required.

      

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Standing:      Must be able to stand up to a constant basis (67% or more of work shift). Working surfaces include concrete, wood, metal, and steel grate. Anti—fatigue mats provided upon request for sorting and despruing tasks.

    Walking:       Must be able to walk up to a frequent basis (up to 66% of work moving to and from designated work sites throughout three story facility. inclined surfaces include concrete, wood, metal, and steel grate.

    Sitting: Must be able to sit occasionally (up to 33% of work shift) when operating forklift.

    Pushing/Pulling: Must be able to push up to a frequent basis (34% to 66% of work shift) when using push broom to clear floor surfaces.

    Lifting: Must be able to lift constantly (67% or more of work shift). When despruing, worker lifts product up to 50 lbs. from shaker belt for placement in designated area. When sorting, worker lifts product ranging in weight from under 1 lb. - 26 lbs. Lifting is from 28” — 36” belts and worker tosses sorted product several inches to several feet into designated areas. When shoveling, worker lifts shovels and/or buckets of sand weighing up to 25 lbs.

    Carrying: Must be able to carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally (up to 33% of work shift) as when shoveling sand and moving buckets.

    Stooping: Must be able to stoop up to a constant basis (67% or more of work shift) as when shoveling and performing clean-up duties.

    Climbing: Must be able to climb occasionally (up to 33% of work shift) vertical stationary ladders and stairs to reach designated work stations.

    Reaching: Must be able to reach up to a constant basis (67% or more of work shift). Reaching is in front of torso between 28” and 36” when despruing, sorting, and operating forklift, as well as to 46” and below waist to floor level when shoveling. Bilateral full extension required to perform job.

    Handling: Must be able to handle with both hands on a constant and and repetitive basis (67% or more of work shift) product pieces, shovel, broom, hammer.

    Fingering: Must be able to apply fine finger dexterity up to a constant basis (67% or more of work shift) when sorting very small product pieces.

    Visual Ability: Must have depth perception (ability to see objects where and as they really are) up to a constant basis (67% or more of work shift). Far acuity and field of vision on an occasional basis (up to 33% of work shift) required for forklift operation.

     

    GENERAL EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

    (The formal and informal education/training contributing to the employees reasoning, language, and mathematical skills. Ratings are based on a low of ‘1’ and a high of “6.)

    Reasoning:    Level two (2). Must be able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Must be able to discriminate among different shapes and sizes of product pieces and to discern imperfections.

    Mathematics:      Level one (1). shoveled or moved by forklift.

    Must be able to understand basic addition to tally units

    Language: Level one (1). Must be able to learn job duties and locations from verbal instructions.

     

    SPECIFIC VOCATIONAL PREPARATION:

    (The amount of training time required by the typical worker to learn techniques, acquire information, and develop the facility needed for average performance.)

    Level 2 (two) is required. Training time between short demonstration and 30 days.

     

    APTITUDES:

    (Specific capacities/abilities required to learn or perform adequately in a task or job duty. Ratings are based on a low of “5”” and a high of “1”.)

    Level three (3), average ability, motor coordination, finger dexterity, manual dexterity, and eye/hand/foot coordination required.

     

    TEMPERMENTS:

    (Personal traits required by a worker by specific job-worker situations)

    Adaptability to performing repetitive work or to continuously perform the same work, according to set procedures, sequence or pace.
