Job Description
"Opening Doors," a LFDCS middle school preparation program, helps talented, low-income, urban students in grades 5-8 and their parent(s) learn of the opportunities of a high-quality secondary education that provides students the opportunity to access admissions-based and tuition-based high schools and boarding schools. This position will assist the "Opening Doors" program by providing administrative and clerical support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare routine and confidential correspondence as directed
- Scheduling parent appointments
- Filing, data entry, event prep
- Collection, tracking and processing of fees
- Help with transporting student to interviews and visits
- Assist with early identification of promising 6th grade students
- Assist with planning of Parent Orientation Nights, Annual High School Fair, Workshops, Parent Panel Night, Lunch and Learns and SSAT/HSPT
- Scheduling high school visits, financial aid meetings and parent/student scholarship meetings
- Completing and processing of year-end scholarship agreements, letters to high school and processing of purchase orders for all 4-year scholarships to high schools
- Assist with alumni activities, planning and scholarship renewal applications and processing fees
- Other duties as assigned related to the Opening Doors Program
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree in Office Technology/Office Administration preferred
- Three years' experience working in an office environment
- Strong Excellent organizational skills; professional/respectful manner
- Excellent communication skills—oral and written
- Willingness to be a team player with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Google Docs and Microsoft Office
- Operating standard equipment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
