The Payroll Assistant provides support to our Payroll Manager and performs payroll tasks. They also help the Accounting Department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions. The Payroll Assistant carries out all procedures with speed and accuracy, while maintaining absolute confidentiality and integrity. Talent goals for this role: · A minimum of 1 year of payroll experience (union construction experience a plus) · Knowledge of California labor compliance regulations and documentation · Experience with MS Excel and accounting software · Familiarity with general accounting principles and regulations · Experience in data collection, entry, and reporting · Great attention to detail · Respect for the confidential nature of handling accounting tasks · Strong written and verbal communication skills · Educational background or certification in accounting · Excellent references Responsibilities: · Enter new hire documentation into LMC's accounting software · Collect and verify timekeeping information for employees · Assist in the preparation and submission of union trust reports and payments · Weekly coordination of subcontractor labor compliance documentation · Assist in the preparation and submission of certified payroll reports and other labor compliance reporting · Process reimbursement forms · Prepare weekly tax payments for review and make deposits · Manage employee garnishments and payments · Review of and compliance with all EDD audit documentation · Quarterly tax review with the Payroll Manager · Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information · Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential Preferred Software Experience: · Spectrum Construction Software (Viewpoint) · Microsoft Office Suite Job Schedule: Full-time. Monday through Friday. Current work hours are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Salary: Depending on experience. Pay range is $21-24 per hour. Work Location: Sacramento, CA.
