The prime candidate will work seamlessly with both senior partners as well as administrative staff in an effort to effectively serve our clients. Responsibilities: • Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings • Determine case strategies and solutions to serve clients’ needs after analysis • Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action • Perform research, draft briefs, pleadings, and motions • Passion for lawyering and being in the courtroom making a difference • Honesty is critical and good ethical character is essential • Love connecting with people • Passionate about helping others • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment • Treats a 4:30 call on Friday with the same care and compassion as one on Monday morning • Exceptional curiosity - Ownership mindset Qualifications: • Must be a member of your local bar association - active member preferred • Advanced computer skills working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) required • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is needed • Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 years • Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision • Qualified candidates will have 3+ years of experience • Admitted to practice law in Tennessee • General or criminal law experience is a plus • Former prosecution experience strongly preferred (we are all former prosecutors!) • Experience in other law firms or government legal departments is a plus • At least 3 years of criminal law experience preferred Compensation: $105,000 DOE
