We are looking for an experienced devops engineer to help us reach our vision of making application security easy for developers. You will participate in this vision by creating and operating automated workloads for us and our customers.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have solid experience in the areas listed below, and be able to compare/contrast competing tools and methods.

• At least 5 years professional operational experience (systems administration, devops, SRE type work)
• Ability to think on your feet, try new ideas, and deal with issues as they come at you. All while keeping goals and deadlines in mind.
• In-depth experience with one or more common Linux distributions
• Solid, real-world experience operating production workloads (scripting, running, monitoring, and responding to issues)
• Public cloud experience: AWS EC2, Azure VMs, etc
• Experience with modern container-based infrastructure: Docker, Swarm Mode, Kubernetes, Mesos etc
• Experience with popular configuration packages such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, etc.
• Experience writing (and documenting!) playbooks and other operational tasks
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience building and running monitoring systems
• Experience building and running data backup/recovery systems

Bonus Experience

Experience in any of the following areas is a big plus:

• Programming experience in Python, C, or GoLang
• Application and systems security experience
• Experience with Microsoft Windows environments
• Experience with modern CI/CD systems such as Gitlab or Jenkins

Our Process

After an initial conversation, select candidates will be offered to select from and work on one of several “interview projects.” We do not follow the “old school” trend of technical grilling sessions in front of a white board; instead we ask candidates to spend a small amount of time (at your pace) working on a project in areas similar to our work so you can get a sense of the type of work you will be doing, and we can get a sense for your craftsmanship.
