    Full Time Position

     

    Overview

    A growing technology company is seeking a Lead Backend Developer to help scale and modernize its core platform. This role is focused on server-side development and API design that powers web, mobile, and connected applications. You’ll work in a LAMP environment (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) to build features that support content delivery, monetization, and analytics.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Advance the platform by developing new backend features and extending existing functionality.
    • Build and maintain APIs to support web, mobile, and TV app experiences.
    • Optimize MySQL databases and backend processes for scalability and uptime.
    • Contribute to content delivery workflows (ingest, transcoding, packaging, DRM).
    • Collaborate with frontend/app developers using Flutter, BrightScript/SceneGraph, TVML, and Swift.

     

    Requirements

    • Strong experience with PHP, MySQL, Linux, Apache.
    • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for backend and integration tasks.
    • Familiarity with Wowza Streaming Engine or similar media servers.
    • Experience building and scaling APIs.

     

    Preferred Skills

    • Exposure to Flutter, BrightScript/SceneGraph, TVML, or Swift is highly valued.
    • Knowledge of media workflows (streaming protocols, DRM, transcoding).
    • Experience with SaaS platforms or other high-scale backend systems.
    • Exposure to content delivery networks or similar distributed systems.
