Hive is a fast-growing home technology company seeking a highly trustworthy, detail-driven Lead Bookkeeper to take full ownership of our financial operations. This is a key leadership role for someone who is hands-on, experienced, and committed to accuracy, confidentiality, and operational excellence.

About the Role

The Lead Bookkeeper will manage and execute all day-to-day financial functions, including:

Accounts Payable & Vendor Management – entering bills, scheduling payments, and maintaining accurate vendor records.

CFO-Level Duties – forecasting, budgeting, cash-flow management, financial strategy, and executive reporting.

Bank & Account Reconciliations – timely and accurate reconciliation across all accounts each month.

QuickBooks Online Administration – full command of QBO, including reporting, custom rules, classes, and job-costing.

Financial Policy & Internal Controls – creating and maintaining processes that ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency.

Oversight of accounts receivable personnel

This is a supervisory-only role. We are looking for someone who excels in both strategic financial leadership and hands-on execution.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

Extremely trustworthy, discreet, and dependable

Fluent in accounting best practices (GAAP preferred)

Expert-level in QuickBooks Online

Highly analytical, organized, and process-driven

Comfortable producing CFO-level insights while also handling day-to-day accounting tasks

A proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Requirements

5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or similar roles

Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online

Strong background in AP, AR, reconciliations, and financial reporting

Ability to work in the office Monday–Friday

Credit check required

Three strong professional references required

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
