Our client, a small (20-person) well-established (50+ years) family-owned commercial and industrial OEM custom equipment manufacturer/fabricator is currently seeking a Lead CNC Brake Press Operator for their Bangor, PA location.
The Lead CNC Press Brake Operator will lead the fabrication department (3 ppl) as well as have direct responsibility for programming, operating, and basic preventive maintenance tasks of the Trumpf CNC press brake in a low volume/ high mix (highly customized) manufacturing operation (10-25 set-ups per day)
For this position, our client is seeking modern CNC Press Brake experience along with strong leadership/ collaboration skills to work a 1st shift (7am-3:30pm) Monday - Friday; only occasional overtime 1 hour before, or after shifts
Responsibilities:
Program, operate, and maintain Trumpf CNC Press Brake
Form Sheet metal material ranging in thickness from 0.050” to 0.375”.
Monitor, organize, give updates on fabricated parts
Plan & organize work activities in a logical manufacturing order
Read blue-prints & perform layouts
Alter dimensions on products to fit applications demands
Ensure the working environment is clean, organized, and safe
Collaborate with team re: discrepancies & improvement ideas
Utilize standard drill and tap sizes
Use hydraulic sheet metal roller for cylindrical and conical products
Use angle grinders for grinding, deburring and cutting activities
Perform drilling, reaming and countersinking of holes
Use shears and iron workers
Work with austenitic stainless steel, aluminum, and low carbon grade steel
Perform material handling, unloading, and organization of products
Do routine machine and plant maintenance as required
Use forklifts, overhead cranes, and other work lifting devices
Use horizontal and vertical band saws
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
3+ years’ experience programming and operating CNC Press Brakes & in a general Metal Fabrication role; with 1+ years as a Lead
Ability to do 10-25 set-ups per day
Willingness to become familiar with the other areas of fabrication: saws, drilling, tapping, rolling, laser, material handling, welding (mostly Tig)
Know mechanics, shop math, metal properties, layout and machine tolerances
Ability to interpret and read blueprints and engineering drawings
Ability to lift 50 plus pounds frequently, occasionally 75lbs
Compensation:
Base salary to 35.00/hour
