ROLE DESCRIPTION
As Lead Cabinet Finisher, your primary responsibility will be to be the leader of finishing furniture, cabinets and cabinet components in an efficient and timely manner while providing the highest quality of work possible. There must be an open line of communication between this role and the production manager, field technicians, builders and general manager. We ask that you help promote a desired company culture. This role reports to the Production Manager.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Include but not limited to:
Finish, paint, stain, clean, sand, color match and prepare furniture, cabinetry and components.
Occasionally perform work in the field on job sites doing cleaning, touch-ups, precision repairs, painting, and re-finishing.
Supervise other Cabinet Finisher 1 & 2’s.
Daily communication flow with technicians, production manager, builders, general managers, and rest of staff.
Familiar with and follow all safety protocols and procedures.
Maintain a clean, neat, and organized workspace.
Utilize all cabinet finishing related equipment and machinery including spray booths, spray guns, paint, stain, brushes, sanders, dust collectors, power tools, etc.
Keep inventory of materials needed for finishing cabinets and communicating to production manager before needs arise.
Proficient in working in a workshop and on-site customer environment.
Proper sanding of solid and veneered wood cabinet surfaces
Identify wood species, colors, materials, and grain patterns.
Ensure cabinet components are prepped and ready for finishing team.
Proactive approach; identifies and solves problems
Color matching skillset
Utilize and become proficient in DASH job management system.
Maintain proper records of duties performed and transactions completed.
Provide the necessary records to the office for the completion of necessary invoices, records, and reports
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
3+ years finishing wood surfaces, cabinetry, furniture, or other trim carpentry
Ability to produce near-identical color matches of stains and paints to existing finishes
Experience working with all cabinet finishing related equipment and machinery including spray booths, spray guns, paint, stain, brushes, sanders, dust collectors, power tools, etc.
Ability to safely operate and maintain open-face spray booths.
Knowledge on laws and regulations in relation to VOCsStrict adherence to safety.
Extremely attentive to detail
Extremely organized
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and can meet strict production deadlines
Exceptional communication skills
Preferred:
5+ years finishing wood surfaces, cabinetry, furniture, or other trim carpentry
Experience in insurance claims, construction, home services, wood working, home building or other similar industries
