    Position Overview: Owais Construction Group is seeking a knowledgeable and dependable Lead Construction Inspector with 10+ years of experience to manage and oversee the day-to-day inspection and coordination of the City’s Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs). This role demands an experienced professional who can effectively manage project documentation, enforce compliance, and ensure the quality and safety of construction work in the field.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Review project plans and specifications.

    Attend project-related and community meetings.

    Maintain detailed project files in line with the Local Assistance Procedures Manual and City protocols.

    Conduct field observations and inspections of daily construction activities, ensuring pedestrian and vehicular safety.

    Monitor compliance with the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).

    Obtain, review, and field-verify asphalt, concrete mix designs, and other submittals.

    Track and inspect the perpetuation of survey monuments by contractors.

    Prepare accurate and timely daily inspection reports.

    Track contractor schedules and assist in identifying delays or issues.

    Ensure labor compliance adherence by contractors.

    Support the preparation of Weekly Statement of Working Day reports.

    Coordinate with City engineers, utility companies, and other stakeholders.

    Participate in public outreach efforts before and during construction phases.

    Review and approve contractor progress invoices.

    Evaluate and recommend actions on contract change orders.

    Maintain an up-to-date set of construction drawings and specifications on-site.

    Assist in coordinating the final inspection and prepare the project punch list.

    Preferred Experience in the Following Project Types:

    Water Infrastructure Projects

    Sewer Infrastructure Projects

    Storm Drain Infrastructure Improvements

    Street Reconstruction Projects

    Pavement Rehabilitation Projects

    Municipal Facility (Building) Improvements

    Park Improvement/Reconstruction Projects

    Stormwater Projects (Low Impact Development, Green Streets, Regional Systems)

    Qualifications:

    Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in public works or capital improvement inspections

    In-depth knowledge of construction practices, materials, and local/state standards

    Strong communication, record-keeping, and coordination skills

    Experience with Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM) compliance preferred
