Beersheba Springs Assembly is seeking a Lead Cook for part-time weekend seasonal work to join our mission-driven team! Located in a beautiful retreat center environment, we host groups ranging from 15 to 200 guests — and we need someone like you to help us serve them with excellence, care, and heart.

    👨‍🍳 What You'll Do: As our Lead Cook, you’ll take the helm in our kitchen on the weekends to prepare buffet-style meals made from scratch, serve a wide variety of dietary needs, and ensure our guests feel welcomed through food and hospitality. You’ll also contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and hospitable facility that reflects our values.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Prepare and serve meals from scratch, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options

    Oversee kitchen staff during food prep, meal service, and cleanup

    Maintain kitchen cleanliness and uphold health/safety standards

    Interact gracefully with guests regarding dietary needs and restrictions

    Collaborate with the Hospitality Director to ensure a clean, welcoming environment across the facility

    Support housekeeping tasks, such as bed making, trash removal, and public area upkeep

    Work weekends and holidays as needed

    Required Qualifications:

    Experience cooking for groups of 100+ preferred

    Minimum of 3 years in food service (preferred but not required)

    Ability to work independently and lead a team

    Commitment to cleanliness, order, and attention to detail

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    Must be able to pass a background check and provide references

    Must obtain a Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire

    Able to lift 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods
