Position Overview
The Lead DoD Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for recruiting and building talent acquisition strategies to meet organizational needs, focusing on hard-to-fill nuclear roles across the U.S. This role drives quality hires, manages recruitment processes, and mentors a small team of talent acquisition specialists while developing innovative sourcing and hiring strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Drive sourcing, assessment, and closing strategies at the department and site level.
Execute strategies to fill roles at all levels and analyze ROI to optimize recruitment approaches.
Mentor and manage a small team of TA specialists.
Recommend new candidate sources and candidate generation programs.
Lead research and special projects, including staffing needs for new markets or major projects.
Recruit top talent with a positive and professional attitude.
Project-manage recruitment improvement initiatives for the team.
Develop and monitor key recruiting team metrics, identify trends, and recommend action plans.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and best practices.
Ensure recruitment service level agreements are met (e.g., time-to-fill metrics).
Enhance the candidate experience through innovative sourcing and process improvements.
Directly source candidates and manage active requisitions across various business units.
Conduct screenings, interviews, and evaluations for external candidates.
Utilize applicant tracking and reporting systems effectively.
Maintain professional relationships and ensure confidentiality and professionalism.
Ensure comprehensive records within electronic filing systems and software.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience in construction, shared services, or similar operational environments preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and accurate data entry.
Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate when appropriate, and manage time effectively.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Willingness to complete pre-employment screenings, including medical, background, and substance abuse tests.
Education & Experience
PHR, CSP, or equivalent certification preferred.
General employment law knowledge required.
5+ years’ experience as a senior-level recruiter, with training in recruiting, executive search methodologies, and sourcing. Experience managing or leading other recruiters preferred.
Physical Requirements
Primarily sedentary work, with prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and phone work.
Frequent talking, hearing, and repetitive motions; occasional walking, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 15 lbs).
Close visual acuity required for data entry, reviewing materials, and computer work.
Travel up to 5% for corporate meetings as scheduled.
