    Primary Function:

    Glass Doctor is seeking a Lead Flat Glass Service Professional with at least four years of experience measuring and installing residential and commercial flat glass, including insulated glass units, storefront installation and repair, and custom showers and mirrors. Under general direction of the General Manager and the Operations Manager, this role will involve customer interaction and perform sales and marketing activities to sell assigned work, identify and sell additional work and develop new customers as required.

    The Lead Flat Glass Service Professional has additional responsibilities for providing personal and technical

    leadership and direction for the other Flat Glass Service Professionals who are part of the team. This includes

    motivational, disciplinary and mentoring actions as required, and will lead by example at all times.

    Specific Duties:

    1. Provide technical resources for the team of Flat Glass Service Professionals in addition to being a working

    team member.

    1. Lead by example at all times.

    2. Meet each day with your team members for a maximum of 15 minutes.

    3. Meet each day with Operations Manager and Dispatcher for a maximum of 15 minutes.

    4. Help schedule manpower assignments, providing the resources necessary to insure that our customers are taken care of timely.

    5. Assist in providing safety training and enforcement.

    6. Provide training and mentorship to Flat Glass Service Professionals as required

    7. Maintain a log of company equipment and tools which includes periodic physical inventories and

    inspections.

    1. Insure that invoices, route sheets, time cards, daily and weekly reports are completed and turned in by

    all flat glass team members timely and accurately.

    1. Offer recommendations on hiring and termination of Flat Glass Service Professionals.

    2. Sell flat glass services to customers.

    3. Conduct accurate field measuring and pricing.

    4. Cut flat glass and mirrors according to specified dimensions and patterns.

    5. Install residential and commercial replacement glass in existing products and systems.

    6. Install mirrors in replacement and new installations.

    7. Install glass and glass holding products and systems (storefronts, windows, shower doors, etc.) in new installations.

    8. Install and adjust door and window hardware as well as other operating components of product lines.

    9. Collect payment and/or information required for payment from customers for work performed.

    10. Maintain a spirit of cooperation, respect and teamwork.

    11. Perform the duties of the job while keeping safety in mind at all times.

    12. Treat all customers and employees with respect at all times.

    13. Conduct periodic inspections to make sure company vehicles and equipment are properly serviced, clean, kept in good working order and condition.

    14. Perform other duties as assigned which may include the duties outside this job description and may also include cross-training in related positions within the company.

    Qualifications

    High school graduate or equivalent.

    Prior proven success in the flat glass industry.

    Ability and willingness to sell the company’s products and services to customers.

    Physical ability to work with ladders, scaffolding and related equipment required for installation of glass and related glass holding systems.

    Personality suitable to leading, working and communicating effectively with fellow employees as a lead person.

    Personality suitable to communication effectively with customers and fellow employees.

    Ability to provide technical guidance to less experienced employees.

    Ability and willingness to assume responsibility for each project and give directions in assisting employees in a non-threatening and non-confrontational manner.

    High degree of self-confidence.

    Driven to see projects completed on schedule and with quality workmanship.

    Willingness to take personal responsibility for own actions as well as those of the other Flat Glass Service Professionals.

    Ability to read architectural drawings, specifications and shop drawings.

    Ability to listen and follow directions to perform job duties without being argumentative or disruptive.

    Ability to think in a logical and progressive manner.

    Ability to effectively present information to customers in a complete, yet persuasive manner.

    Good communication and interpersonal skills which are particularly well suited to working with a variety of situations.

    Accustomed to working in fast moving environments requiring timely attention to details as well as unpredictable and changing conditions.
