Are you an experienced Garage Door Technician or Installer who is ready for more responsibility, better earning potential, and the opportunity to lead?

We are hiring a Lead Garage Door Technician to join our growing residential team. We're looking for someone who knows garage doors inside and out, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can be the person other installers turn to when a job gets complicated.

This is a hands-on field position, not a desk job. You'll install, troubleshoot, lead complex projects, help train other installers, and play an important role in improving the overall performance of the installation team.

If you're already the person coworkers call when they can't figure something out, we want to talk with you.

Why You'll Want to Join Our Team

Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Compensation: $75,000-$85,000 + Performance Bonus Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Company Vehicle, Gas Card & Tool Allowance

    What You'll Do

As our Lead Garage Door Technician, you'll be one of the go-to people in the field for installations, troubleshooting, quality, and technician development.

    You'll:

Install residential garage doors, openers, operators, and related equipment

Lead complex and specialty garage door installations

Troubleshoot difficult installation and operational issues

Train, mentor, and support installers in the field

Help newer technicians improve their skills, efficiency, and confidence

Inspect completed installations for quality and accuracy

Identify the cause of warranty issues and callbacks

Help reduce installation errors, rework, and repeat service calls

Work with customers and internal team members on larger projects

Make sure proper installation and safety procedures are followed

Help ensure crews have the equipment and materials needed for upcoming jobs

Recommend ways to improve installation processes, quality, and efficiency

The Lead Installer position is specifically responsible for supervising and training the installation team, maintaining field quality, reducing warranty callbacks, and taking the lead on major and complex projects.

    What We're Looking For

This is a lead-level position, so we're looking for someone with strong hands-on garage door installation and repair experience.

    You should have experience with:

    Residential garage door installation

    Garage door openers and operators

    Measuring for proper door installation

    Standard and low-headroom applications

    Headroom and sideroom requirements

    Torsion systems

    Spring line requirements

    Jackshaft applications

    Operator and wiring requirements

    Diagnosing garage door installation problems

    Correcting installation issues and callbacks

The original role requires extensive knowledge of garage door and operator installation and repair, including detailed understanding of installation measurements and different operating configurations.

You're Probably a Great Fit If...

You're the installer who wants the job done right, not just done fast.

You're comfortable making decisions in the field. You can look at an installation problem, figure out what's happening, and come up with a solution.

You also don't mind sharing what you know. You can coach another installer without talking down to them and understand that building a stronger team ultimately makes everyone's job easier.

We're looking for someone who brings:

    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

    Attention to detail

    Leadership and mentoring ability

    Dependability and accountability

    Strong customer communication

    Organization and time-management skills

    Ability to work independently

    Professionalism in customers' homes

A strong commitment to safety and quality

    Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on trade position. You'll regularly be climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling garage door materials and equipment.

You must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds for up to 50 feet. Door Dorks Job Description
