The Lead General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, switches, fixtures, patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, replacing water coolers filters, toilets seats, painting structures and equipment, replacing damaged floor tiles, hanging or adjusting doors, and rain gutter cleaning.
Lead General Maintenance Worker shall provide the minor services, include but not limited to, the following tasks:
Developing and executing the preventative maintenance schedule
Prioritizing and assigning maintenance requests and work orders
Providing daily supervision of maintenance staff
Reviewing completed work for quality and compliance
Coordinating with Government representatives on safety, environmental and audit matters
Maintaining secure communications with DLA systems via CAC and DLA email
PM must possess an active DoD Common Access Card (CAC) and a DLA-issued email account to support official communications, access secure systems, and receive government taskings
PM must be on site or immediately available during DLA operating hours.
Maintain minor building protective coatings
Change lighting
Replace carpet squares
Replace registers and diffusers that are located six feet (6’) above the floor
Replace broken power outlets and light switches
Clear plugged drains up to 6’
Repair wall paneling
Repair or replace faucets and flushometers
Replace ceiling fans
Vacuum water from flooded areas during leak events
Replace damaged, missing door transitions
Patch minor holes and cracks in walls
Replace water cooler filters
Clean single story building rain gutters of debris
Patch floor cracks and spalls not to exceed 24 square inches
Replace or repair door closures
Ground Maintenances
Shall report to the Facilities Trouble Desk and be willing and able to be
dispatched as necessary for minor work order repair.
Shall assist with facility material movement and storage.
Resolution of problem work requests received shall be resolved within one business day and not
to exceed 3 business days.
Personnel Courtesy. Personnel responding for repair work shall be courteous and professional.
Shall be able and competent to accomplish all tasks outlined in this section without additional
training or direct supervision
