Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Greenville, SC. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, along with a strong ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and residential HVAC equipment. This position requires a commitment to excellent customer service, technical expertise, and leadership in the field.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration units.
· Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity.
· Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to determine installation, and service procedures
· Perform equipment startup, low voltage wiring for Mechanical Division construction projects.
· Identify and resolve HVAC system deficiencies with the ability to recommend solutions to restore or improve functionality.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations, including EPA refrigerant guidelines.
· Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating technical information, recommendations, and service options.
· Mentor and train junior technicians, assisting them with complex diagnostics and repairs.
· Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation of all work performed.
· Keep up-to-date with industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC service and repair.
· Respond to emergency service calls and be available for on-call rotation as required.
Job Requirements:
· Minimum of 5+ years of HVAC service experience in residential and/or commercial environments.
· EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal required).
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
· Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and controls, including variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, ductwork, and zoning systems.
· Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and solve complex HVAC issues efficiently.
· Proficiency in using HVAC diagnostic tools, multimeters, and other service equipment.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
· Ability to lift HVAC equipment, work on scissor lifts or aerial platforms, rooftops, ladders, and attic spaces.
· Certification in NATE (North American Technician Excellence) is a plus.
· Ability to train and mentor apprentices and service technicians.
