    Lead Teacher (Infant/Toddler) – The Goddard School® | Alexandria (Old Town), VA

    The Goddard School® in Alexandria (Old Town) is building a high-expectation, high-support school environment and is seeking a professional, dependable, and nurturing Lead Teacher for our Infant/Toddler program.

    This is not a babysitting role. We are a premium early childhood school focused on strong curriculum, consistent routines, and exceptional parent communication.

    You will be supported daily by dedicated Program Managers who are actively involved in classrooms—coaching, guiding, and helping you succeed.

    Compensation & Benefits

    $21 – $26 per hour, based on experience, reliability, and classroom leadership

    $500 sign-on bonus

    $250 after 60 days

    $250 after 6 months

    What You’ll Do

    Classroom Leadership

    Lead an Infant/Toddler classroom with full ownership of routines, safety, and environment

    Create a calm, nurturing, and structured classroom culture

    Maintain strong classroom management using positive guidance

    Curriculum & Child Development

    Implement developmentally appropriate activities aligned with our curriculum

    Observe and document developmental milestones

    Individualize care and learning based on each child

    Parent Communication (Critical)

    Build strong, professional relationships with families

    Provide consistent daily updates

    Handle parent questions confidently and professionally

    Health, Safety & Compliance

    Follow all licensing, health, and safety standards

    Maintain a clean, organized classroom at all times

    Provide active supervision

    What We’re Looking For

    Required

    Experience with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare setting

    Strong reliability (attendance and punctuality are non-negotiable)

    Ability to manage a classroom independently

    Comfortable with daily parent communication

    Preferred

    CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education

    1–3 years of experience

    Familiarity with Virginia licensing

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    Frequent bending, sitting, and active engagement
