Position Overview:
The primary focus of the Lead Instructor / Discovery Center Supervisor position is to maintain Snapology Curriculum, oversee Discovery Center activities, oversee the safety of guests and promote business assist instructors in program preparation. Lead Instructors are also asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills of students by supporting the Instructors in the classroom and provide instructor feedback and training. Programs are conducted for children ages 3-14. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology Instructors & leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.
Position is part time, 20-35 hours per week dependent on time of year and programming.
Role & Responsibilities:
Take ownership of the day-to-day operations of Snapology of Dover in the absence of owners.
Monitor children in the use of Discovery Center learning materials and equipment.
Oversee, manage and enhance After School Program
Support Snapology Instructors by ensuring they are prepared for their classes and events well in advance.
Maintain all Class/Event/Workshop supplies, materials and curriculum.
Aid in Management of student behavior in the Discovery Center by enforcing rules and procedures
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology
Maintain smooth operation of Discovery Center by ordering supplies, equipment and other necessities.
Teach classes, workshops and camps as needed on site and at partner facilities.
Attend, manage and set-up all off-site special events.
Maintain smooth operation of off-site Snapology programs by coordinating with instructors, partners and Snapology leadership
Organize Snapology program materials
Effectively problem solve customer, staff and Discovery Center issues
Complete special assignments as indicated by Snapology leadership
Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs
Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs
Engage in community outreach to grow mobile programs in schools
Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required
30+ hours per week, including weekends.
Must have high level critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Qualifications:
Criminal and Child Clearances
Experience working with children
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
Programs:
Weekday after-school and/or evening classes
Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
Summer camps
Special events, holiday and break workshops
Off-site classes, workshops and camps
Benefits:
$500 signing bonus after 3 months employment.
2-6 remote hours per week
