    Job description

    Applebrook Inn Veterinary Center isa full service animal care facility offering veterinary care, boarding, grooming, daycare, and training located on 8 acres in West Chester, PA. We're looking for a professional and reliable Kennel Assistant with a strong love of animals and a genuine interest in working with dogs and cats. The Lead Kennel Attendant is responsible for feeding, cleaning, bathing and exercising dogs and cats, and may be asked to assist with veterinary visits. We are a predominantly off-leash kennel environment so comfort with dogs is a must. A successful Lead Kennel Attendant will be dedicated to the care of companion animals, and will enjoy helping customers make informed decisions about their pets.

    Must be available to work weekends and some holidays

    Must haves

    Experience in a kennel or dog daycare environment. Stable or relevant experience required

    Knowledge of canine behavior and health

    Applicants must be able to work weekends

    Ability to lift 50+ pounds

    Willingness to spend extended periods of time outdoors

    Effective communicates - both orally and written.

    Responsibilities

    Cleaning, feeding, and general care for overnight and day guests.

    Provide supervision for 1 on 1 time and group play activities

    Closely monitor all dogs in our care and report concerns to supervisors and veterinary staff

    Interact with clients including assisting in arrival and departure of pets, and providing updates during pet’s stay through phone, email, pet portal, or social media

    Outdoor property maintenance including lawn care and snow maintenance as needed

    Assist in any other duties management sees fit

    Hourly Pay & Benefits:
