Job Title: Lead Line Cook / Kitchen Lead
The Role: We are looking for a highly skilled, disciplined, and motivated Lead Line Cook to join our culinary team. This is a "player-coach" position designed for a seasoned professional who excels on the line but also possesses the leadership maturity to oversee daily operations and maintain our high standards of execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Leadership: Lead the line during peak hours, ensuring timing, plating, and quality standards are met across all stations.
Operational Oversight: Assist in managing daily prep lists, inventory rotation (FIFO), and ordering to ensure zero-waste efficiency.
Quality Control: Act as the final eyes on dishes before they leave the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence.
Mentorship: Train junior line and prep cooks on technique, station organization, and safety protocols.
Administrative Support: Assist with temperature logs, health code compliance, and closing checklists to ensure the kitchen is "inspection-ready" at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: 4+ years in high-volume, scratch kitchens, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or "senior" capacity.
Technical Mastery: Advanced knife skills and expert-level knowledge of various cooking techniques (sauté, grill, garde manger).
Temperament: A calm-under-pressure professional who leads by example rather than volume.
Availability: Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
