    SUMMARY

    Seeking a Lead Engineer in the San Antonio, TX area! The Lead Engineer will serve as a technical lead for the design and execution of custom and standardized industrial control panel enclosures and engineered mechanical systems. This role is highly hands-on and plays a critical part in ensuring products meet UL standards, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements, while supporting cross-functional teams across engineering, project management, manufacturing, and quality.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead mechanical design of industrial control panel enclosures, skids, cabinets, and integrated mechanical assemblies.
    • Maintain and improve internal engineering standards and best practices.
    • Partner with Project Managers, Electrical Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing to deliver projects on schedule and within scope.
    • Mentor junior engineers and designers through technical guidance and design reviews.
    • Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, standardization, and manufacturability.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and production.
    • Lead and oversee the design of custom generator enclosures and integrated power distribution systems.
    • Structural & HVAC Integration: Collaborate across disciplines to ensure structural and cooling systems are optimized for durability, safety, and efficiency.
    • Material & Component Strategy: Specify materials and components to align geographic and environmental considerations.
    • Documentation & Compliance: Produce detailed design packages including drawings, bill of materials, and technical documentation; ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
    • Client Collaboration: Serve as a primary technical interface with clients throughout the lifecycle of each project.
    • Project Management: Drive engineering schedules and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet milestones.
    • Mentorship: Lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and uphold rigorous quality assurance standards.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years collaborating with mission critical custom enclosures.
    • Expertise in mechanical design within commercial or industrial construction settings
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred
    • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD (3D), and related engineering design tools
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
