    Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Medical Assistant to oversee our team in a fast-paced private practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of medical practices, ensuring that our staff provides exceptional patient care. This role requires a proactive approach to managing daily operations, fostering teamwork, and maintaining high standards of patient care.

    Responsibilities

    Prepare for the patient visit, including pulling charts and notes, as well as setting up medical equipment

    Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs

    Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties

    Supervise and coordinate the activities of healthcare staff to ensure efficient patient care delivery.

    Assist Neurologist with patient exams, procedures, and treatments.

    Perform clinical tasks such as taking vitals, administering medications, and conducting basic neurological assessments.

    Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring proper sterilization and inventory of medical supplies.

    Document patient history, symptoms, prescriptions and treatment pans accurately in the EMR system.

    Oversee daily office operations, ensuring smooth patient flow and efficient scheduling.

    Handle patient concerns and escalate issues to physician or practice manager when necessary.

    Provide guidance and support to the patient care team, ensuring adherence to protocols.

    Conduct training sessions on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and patient care best practices.

    Assist with medical administrative support tasks, including coding and documentation.

    Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards within the facility.

    Evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback for professional development.

    Qualifications

    BLS Certification or Certified Medical Assistant desired

    Excellent customer service skills

    Strong attention to detail

    Experience

    Proven experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare setting is preferred.

    Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or higher license required.

    3+ years of experience in neurology or a related specialty preferred.

    Strong knowledge of anatomy, patient care practices, and medical terminology.

    Experience in medical administrative support functions including coding is desirable.

    Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
