Lead with Compassion. Build Community through Connection. At ServiceNet, we support individuals across all stages of their mental health and recovery journeys. Our PREP (Prevention and Recovery in Early Psychosis) program is designed for young adults navigating the challenges of early psychosis and co-occurring substance use. We create a space that is safe, welcoming, and purpose-driven—and now, we’re looking for a Lead Milieu Counselor to help shape that environment. If you thrive in team-centered work, love engaging with young adults, and bring both creativity and structure to your clinical support—this is your moment.

    About the Role:

As the Lead Milieu Counselor, you’ll be the heart of the therapeutic milieu at PREP. From running groups and planning activities to welcoming new participants and helping guide them through their recovery journey, you’ll ensure that every client feels supported, seen, and part of a community. You’ll work closely with the clinical team to promote recovery-focused routines, foster peer-to-peer connection, and uphold program expectations in ways that are relational, consistent, and empowering.

    What You’ll Be Doing:

    Milieu Leadership

Establish a welcoming and therapeutic environment that fosters socialization, routine, and recovery.

Lead groups, organize therapeutic and recreational activities, and engage clients in daily program rhythms.

Assist with decorating, organizing, and creating a client-friendly space.

    Client Support & Engagement

Build strong, trusting relationships with clients and their families.

Support client orientation and help reinforce PREP expectations (e.g., no illicit substance use, group attendance, hygiene, cleanliness).

Participate in outings to community sites like the YMCA or appointments.

Encourage healthy routines and conflict resolution through a trauma-informed approach.

    Team Collaboration

Partner with the clinical team to identify and troubleshoot barriers to engagement.

Maintain documentation for group sessions, individual contacts, and family engagement.

Help coordinate and support student interns assisting with milieu activities.

What You Bring to the Table:

    Required:

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

    Basic computer skills

Ability to lift 10–25 pounds and perform CPR

    Preferred:

Certified Peer Specialist (or equivalent lived experience)

Bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field

At least 2 years’ experience working with young adults with mental health and substance use needs

    Spanish language skills

Familiarity with psychosis, harm reduction, and recovery models

    Perks & Benefits:

    Mileage reimbursement

    Generous paid time off

    Health & dental insurance

403(B) retirement plan with employer match

Paid life insurance & long-term disability

Tuition assistance and career advancement opportunities

A culture rooted in inclusion, community, and clinical excellence

Join the Heart of Healing - Why Work With Us?

Because what we do matters! At PREP, we’re helping young adults rewrite the story of their lives—and as Lead Milieu Counselor, you’ll be part of every chapter.
