Sowers Paint Company Inc. is seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and takes pride in producing high-quality results. This position is responsible for leading painting crews, coordinating daily tasks, maintaining standards of quality and safety, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage a crew of painters on residential and commercial projects. • Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming. • Perform professional-quality brush, roll, and spray applications. • Ensure proper materials, tools, and supplies are on-site and organized daily. • Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure satisfaction. • Follow project timelines, work orders, and quality standards set by the Project Manager. • Inspect work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completion according to company standards. • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. • Train and mentor apprentices or junior painters as needed. • Track time, materials, and progress daily and report updates to the Project Manager by 5:00 PM.
Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum 3–5 years of professional painting experience (lead experience preferred). • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team effectively. • Proficient in all aspects of painting, including prep, brush, roll, spray, and finish work. • Knowledge of paint types, application techniques, and surface preparation. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship. • Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently. • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. • Comfortable with climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
