About Our School
New Day School is a Neo-Humanist early childhood program rooted in a holistic approach to education that honors the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual development of each child. Position Overview
We are seeking to fill a Lead Teacher position beginning in Fall 2026. The ideal candidate is professionally qualified, grounded, reliable, compassionate, and aligned with a values-based, child-centered approach to early childhood education.
Our school year runs from September through June, followed by a four-week summer program during July and August. This position includes salaried employment during the school year and the summer program. The school is closed for several weeks during the summer, providing extended breaks between program sessions.

Responsibilities
Provide attentive, nurturing care and guidance to young children
Support the daily classroom rhythm, including circle time, outdoor play, meals, and rest
Classroom management, including organization of supplies and classroom maintenance
Implement New Day School's lesson plans based on Neo-Humanist principles and extend the curriculum with developmentally appropriate scaffolding that fosters creativity and independence
Maintain compliance with all Oregon DELC licensing requirements
Foster a calm, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
Communicate professionally with colleagues and families
Participate in team collaboration and ongoing program development
Required Qualifications
Enrollment in the Oregon Central Background Registry (CBR)
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Oregon Registry Step level, or active progress toward obtaining one
Experience working in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
Understanding of child development and guidance practices
Preferred Qualities
Warm, patient, and emotionally attuned
Reliable and steady under pressure
Drawn to meaningful, values-based work
Interest in holistic education (Neo-Humanist, Montessori, Waldorf, etc.)
Personal practices that support self-awareness (e.g., meditation, yoga, reflective practices)
Education & Experience
Associate degree (preferred), or
Bachelor's degree with early childhood education experience
At least one year of experience in early childhood education (preferred)
What We Offer
Compensation: Annual Base Salary: $50,258 Annual Medical Allowance: $2,000 Total Annual Compensation: $52,258
